The Ukrainian delegation is actively working with the American side and European representatives on possible meetings and support packages.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this on January 20.
He spoke with the Ukrainian delegation — Rustem Umerov, Kyrylo Budanov, and Davyd Arakhamia.
“Air defense missiles are needed every day. Weapons are needed every day. Equipment for recovery and reserves is needed every day. If the Davos format ensures this — real results for Ukraine — Ukraine will be represented there. No one needs empty politics and talks without results”, — the President emphasized.
He held a special conference call on the situation in the regions — recovery efforts and mobilization of necessary resources.
“Kyiv is the most difficult case. In the morning, Shaheds hit an energy facility in the region. The performance of the Air Force against Shaheds is unsatisfactory: interceptors exist, many forces are involved — mobile fire groups, F-16s are available — and the organization of Air Force operations must be different. We separately reviewed this situation with the Minister of Defense — conclusions will follow”, — Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
According to him, as of the evening, more than one million consumers in Kyiv alone were without electricity. A significant number of buildings were without heating — more than 4,000 apartment buildings.
“There were reports on what was done during the day in parts of Kyiv Oblast, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Kharkiv, Chernihiv Oblast, Sumy Oblast, and Rivne. I am grateful to those who are working оперативно. The situation in Zaporizhzhia is very difficult — Shaheds have been striking the city all day. I ordered more assets and more crews to be deployed for protection, and there are specific tasks to change logistics — the Ministry of Defense is handling this”, — the Head of State stated.
He also announced that Oleksandr Kubrakov, from his position in the Office of the President, will be responsible for infrastructure issues and relations with communities.
“I appointed Kubrakov as my adviser — including on the situation in Kyiv. I will wait for proposals. I will continue to involve professional people from Team Ukraine who can join state work. All forces must now be focused on Ukraine”, — Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
