President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed officials to review curfew rules during a state of emergency for certain cities and communities.
He announced this on January 14 in his evening address.
The Head of State held a meeting with the new Minister of Defense, Mykhailo Fedorov.
“The first priority is the protection of the sky. Decisions and tasks are in place. We must support the front. Brigade supply, financing, and drone deliveries — there will be transformation”, — he emphasized.
In addition, there are separate tasks for diplomats.
“There are separate tasks for diplomats—for the entire Ukrainian diplomatic corps, which must live with the same problems, the same emotions, and the same goals as all Ukrainians. More support is needed for our state and people, for our resilience, for recovery. The necessary requests to partners have been made”, — the President said.
He also spoke with Rustem Umerov and other members of the negotiating team.
“We must actively move forward on documents — on security guarantees, on economic agreements, and on the political document as well. From our side — maximum productivity. We expect the same energetic work from the American side. I personally expect it very much”, — Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
In addition, he held a meeting on energy issues.
“Denys Shmyhal has been appointed First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Ukraine. His key task is to deal with the emergency situation in the energy sector caused by Russian strikes and severe winter weather. A state of emergency in the energy sector will be legally established, which will provide more opportunities”, — the Head of State stated.
According to him, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will simplify everything related to connecting backup energy equipment to the grid.
The President instructed to increase electricity import capabilities — using all available business opportunities.
“In Kyiv and other cities, there must be more support points for people — significantly more — Points of Invincibility. I instructed to review curfew rules: during a state of emergency, we may lift the curfew for certain cities and communities where the security situation allows it”, — he said.
Officials are to present the relevant proposals.
“So that people can receive all necessary support at any time and businesses can plan their work more rationally”, — Volodymyr Zelenskyy added.
