During the night of December 5, the Defence Forces of Ukraine carried out a series of precise strikes on strategic rear-support facilities of Russia.
This was reported in a statement by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Strike on Temryuk seaport
Units of the Defence Forces struck the infrastructure of the Temryuk port in Krasnodar Krai — an important logistics hub that handles general, chemical, liquid, and bulk cargo used by the Russian occupation army.
A strike and subsequent fire were confirmed. The scale of the damage is being clarified.
Syzran oil refinery
The Syzran Oil Refinery in the Samara region — one of the largest in the area, processing 7–8.9 million tonnes of crude oil annually and supplying fuel to the Russian armed forces — was also hit.
UAVs struck the facility, causing a fire. Preliminary reports indicate damage to one of the technological units.
Saratov oil refinery: complete shutdown of primary processing
The General Staff confirmed the results of the recent strike on the Saratov Oil Refinery. The ELOU-AVT-6 primary oil refining unit was damaged. As of early December, the refinery has completely halted primary processing and is operating at less than 50% of its design capacity. Key units have been shut down.
Strategic effect
Strikes on Russia’s port and oil-refining infrastructure significantly reduce its military-economic potential and complicate the supply of its occupation forces in Ukraine.
The Defence Forces continue to systematically destroy the aggressor’s logistics to accelerate the end of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
