Critical infrastructure enterprises can now join the state air defense system under the coordination of the military command.
This was reported by Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
To implement the decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff, the Cabinet of Ministers approved an experimental procedure that allows enterprises to be involved in forming mobile air defense fire groups.
WHO WILL BE ABLE TO JOIN
According to the Minister, the state is opening up such an opportunity for the first time to businesses and critical infrastructure operators.
“Enterprises that ensure the functioning of the energy sector, communications, transport, water supply, and other strategic areas will be the first to be able to join the project”, — Denys Shmyhal stated.
Participation is also available to other companies that have the necessary resources and can meet security requirements.
HOW THE AIR DEFENSE GROUPS WILL OPERATE
The document sets out clear rules of operation:
“This decision will make air defense more effective, strengthen the protection of strategic facilities, and allow the state and businesses to combine their capabilities”, — the Minister of Defense emphasized.
