Following a meeting in Kyiv with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the European Union had decided to allocate funds for the establishment of a Special Tribunal on the Crime of Russian Aggression.

The Head of State wrote about this on his official page.

“Separately — the issue of the Special Tribunal. There is a decision to allocate money from the European Union. This is important. It shows that we are talking about justice and that there are already practical steps being taken, not just calls for them”, — the President emphasized.

He thanked Kaja Kallas for her significant support of Ukraine.

During the meeting, the following key issues were also discussed:

  • protection of Ukraine’s energy sector;

  • increasing pressure on Russia and the adoption of the 19th package of sanctions;

  • the use of frozen Russian assets;

  • the SAFE program and joint defense production;

  • Ukraine’s path to EU membership and the opening of negotiation clusters.
