Estonia joins the Drone Deal: Volodymyr Zelenskyy announces a new defense agreement
Ukraine and Estonia have signed a Drone Deal agreement providing for the joint production of defense equipment.
This was announced by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The document was signed during the meeting between the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Estonia, Kristen Michal, in Ankara.
According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the agreement opens a new stage of defense cooperation between the two countries and demonstrates a high level of mutual trust.
“This agreement is not only a path toward faster cooperation between our countries. It is also a step and a signal of trust, because we are concluding it with a very close friend, and that is of tremendous importance”, — the President emphasized.
Ukraine and Estonia will develop the joint production of defense equipment on the territory of both countries. Among the priorities is the manufacture of systems to protect Ukraine’s skies.
The parties also discussed Ukraine’s European integration. The President informed the Estonian Prime Minister about diplomatic efforts aimed at opening the remaining five negotiation clusters on Ukraine’s path toward accession to the European Union.
