According to the U.S. Department of War, for the first time in history, the number of Russian fatalities has exceeded the number of wounded.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio made this statement during Senate hearings.

“Ukraine is increasingly effectively delivering long-range strikes deep into Russian territory and against critical targets of the Russian economy. According to the U.S. Department of War, for the first time in history, the number of Russian fatalities has exceeded the number of wounded. So Ukrainians are not only fighting bravely, they are fighting effectively,” the Secretary of State said.

The official acknowledged that Ukrainian strikes deep into Russian territory are effective, and given the current dynamics on the battlefield, Russia may never achieve through military means what it seeks at the negotiating table. Marco Rubio added that, in the United States’ view, the war can only be ended through diplomatic means.

“Our role is to determine whether there is a path to a peaceful resolution. Ultimately, this war will end at the negotiating table. However, achieving this is difficult, as the parties’ positions on ending the war remain very far apart,” Marco Rubio said.
