The enemy is attempting to develop the production of naval drones and copy successful Ukrainian practices — both technical solutions and tactics.

This was stated during the “United News” telethon by Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesperson of the Ukrainian Navy.

According to him, the Black Sea has now effectively become a “gray zone”, primarily because Russian forces cannot operate freely there. This is due to countermeasures from both naval drones and missile weapons.

“They have a black hole in the form of the Black Sea Fleet, which essentially performs no tasks. Apart from launching strikes against Ukraine once or twice a month from several ships”, — the Navy spokesperson noted.

At the same time, Russian forces actively use aviation in the airspace over the maritime area, which poses a threat to Ukrainian operations. The occupiers are also trying to develop their naval drone capabilities.

“Right now, they are forced to catch up. Do we consider this threat real? Yes, we do. There have been cases of their use. Unfortunately, some of them had consequences — that is also a fact. The enemy is not standing still. They are also trying to develop this field, attempting to copy our successful cases — both in terms of technical and technological solutions and tactics of use. However, there is no comparison with how Ukraine employs them”, — Dmytro Pletenchuk concluded.
