Viacheslav has been in the military relatively recently — since 2024. Before the war, he taught children music and led ensembles. But when the time came, he mad
His story was shared on the page of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Someone once asked what my call sign was. I said I used to work as a music teacher. The guys laughed — and that’s how they named me ‘Director’”, — Viacheslav recalls.
He serves in the 119th Separate Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces. He does not regret his decision to defend the country.
His combat path hasn’t been limited to one direction or a short rotation. Bila Hora, Druzhkivka, Torske, the border — positions where the defense must be held for months.
“The first deployment — a month. Then I went in for three. We don’t have enough people, so we stand for a long time, because we know: who else if not us”, — he says.
For him, service is not about rank but about responsibility for every fighter beside him.
“I am responsible for my guys. As a commander — for everyone. Long stays at positions change a person. Here you quickly learn endurance and discipline. Here you understand that the hardest thing is losing those with whom you drank coffee yesterday”, — he says.
According to him, the most difficult part of war is the death of friends. You can get used to explosions — but not to losing a brother-in-arms.
Viacheslav says his support system is his mother, sister, and daughter — a medic. His family is the reason he stands and the reason he cannot step back.
