In July 2026, Russia set a new record for the use of guided aerial bombs — over 8,300 — while almost 8,000 combat engagements were fought along the front line.

In July 2026, the Russian army significantly increased the intensity of its air attacks along the line of contact. At the same time, last month was one of the periods of highest combat activity at the front.

The Russian army set a new record for the use of guided aerial bombs

Over the course of July, Russian forces used more than 8,300 guided aerial bombs fitted with universal glide and correction modules. This is the highest figure recorded since the start of the full-scale war.

By way of comparison, in June enemy aircraft used 8,266 guided bombs, which was also one of the highest monthly totals.

Almost 8,000 combat engagements took place at the front in July

Combat activity along the line of contact remained extremely high throughout the second month of summer. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 7,922 combat engagements were recorded in July.

That averages out at more than 250 clashes a day.

In June, by comparison, Ukrainian troops recorded 7,316 combat engagements, which points to a further increase in the intensity of fighting.

In addition, over the course of July Russian forces carried out almost 97,000 attacks on the positions of Ukraine’s defenders. More than 1,300 of these strikes were delivered using multiple launch rocket systems.

As ArmyInform reported earlier, since the beginning of 2026 the State Special Transport Service has installed more than 1,184 km of anti-drone protection along logistics routes and repaired hundreds of kilometres of roads.
