The Prime Minister held a meeting with the Ministry of Defence on securing the additional $27 billion in defence funding needed this year.

Some of the funds are required immediately to prepay for supplies scheduled to arrive in the first quarter of 2027.

Part of the amount is expected to be covered through domestic sources by reallocating funds within existing programmes. The Ministry of Finance has been tasked with this.

Ukraine is also counting on support from the European Union. Direct negotiations are underway between defence ministries and NATO countries and other partners to secure the necessary funding.

At the same time, external financing linked to the implementation of agreements with international partners needs to be unlocked. This requires the adoption of specific laws and decisions within the framework of the plan presented by the Government. The Government is working closely with Parliament on a daily basis.
