Volodymyr Zelenskyy Arrives at the UN General Assembly: Meetings Planned with the US President and European Leaders
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived in New York for the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, together with the First Lady and Ukraine's diplomats.
This is stated in a post on the head of state’s Telegram channel.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he has around 20 meetings scheduled: with the US President, European leaders, senators and members of the US House of Representatives, the heads of international organisations, leading American companies and think tanks.
A new Drone Deal agreement has also been prepared for signing.
“Ukraine’s first priority is, of course, bringing peace closer and protecting the lives of our people. There are specific security proposals and de-escalation solutions that could bring the end of the war closer. We are working on strengthening air defence and securing sufficient financing for Ukraine,” the post reads.
As last year, a summit of the international Crimea Platform will take place in New York with broad, high-level representation from participating countries.
First Lady Olena Zelenska will address students and faculty at Columbia University and present the results of the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen at the UN.
The First Lady also has a series of meetings scheduled with American businesses and philanthropists in support of the Olena Zelenska Foundation’s projects, along with a number of bilateral meetings, including with the wife of the UK Prime Minister and the President of the World Bank.
