Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Mette Frederiksen Discuss Sanctions Against Russia and Expanding Defence Production
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has held a conversation with Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen.
The head of state announced this on social media.
The two discussed sanctions policy within the European Union.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that, with Russia continuing to escalate the war, the response should be tougher sanctions.
They also discussed Ukraine’s financial resilience and possible solutions for covering the state budget deficit.
The President briefed the Danish Prime Minister on Russian attacks and on Ukrainian work to counter jet-powered Shaheds.
Joint defence production, including the construction of new facilities, was another topic of the conversation.
According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine and Denmark have the potential to expand this cooperation and have agreed to work on realising it.
The President thanked Denmark for its support for Ukraine and for its stance on sanctions, and expressed hope that European partners would maintain their unity.
