«The Patriots Cannot Be Replaced Right Now»: President Meets Bipartisan Delegation of US Senators
During his visit to New York, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with a bipartisan delegation of US senators.
He reported this on Tuesday, 22 September.
The meeting was attended by Senators Jeanne Shaheen, Dave McCormick, Sheldon Whitehouse, Christopher Coons, Mark Kelly, Richard Blumenthal and Peter Welch.
According to the head of state, the two sides discussed Ukraine’s need for interceptors against Russian ballistic missiles and the challenges the country may face ahead of the winter.
“American Patriots cannot be replaced right now, and the more anti-ballistic protection Ukraine has, the less audacity Russia will have to continue its strikes and drag out the war,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
He also thanked the United States for its strong bipartisan support and for the vote on the so-called sanctions from hell against Russia, authored by the late Senator Lindsey Graham and his colleague Richard Blumenthal.
“A very right step, and when it is fully implemented, peace and guaranteed security will certainly come closer,” the President said.
