Ukraine and Italy discuss steps to strengthen Ukrainian air defense
Ukraine’s Defense Minister Yevhenii Khmara discussed air defense, battlefield needs and security challenges with Italy’s Guido Crosetto.
The Ministry of Defense reported this on its Telegram channel.
Yevhenii Khmara emphasized that one of the main threats now is posed by jet-powered UAVs and ballistic missiles, whose production russia is increasing to intensify its terror against Ukrainian cities, particularly Kyiv.
“Therefore, we are counting on our partners’ support in critical areas: funding, the supply of specific types of weapons, primarily air defense systems, as well as technologies and means to strike the enemy,” the head of Ukraine’s defense ministry said.
At the same time, Yevhenii Khmara noted that Ukraine is developing its own war plan and strengthening asymmetric actions against russia in order to minimize its ability to wage war.
Yevhenii Khmara thanked Italy and its partners for their support and readiness to assist Ukraine’s defense.
As ArmyInform reported, Ukraine has asked its partners to increase military assistance and provide air defense missiles before the start of winter.
To counter russia’s air terror, its plans for mobilization and the expansion of drone production, Ukraine needs to increase supplies of critical weapons and attract an additional $27 billion.
