President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Russia could potentially increase its production of ballistic missiles to 1,300 a year.

The President reported this while speaking to journalists.

According to the head of state, Russia’s current stockpile stands at around 600–630 ballistic missiles, and by the end of the winter it could reach a production rate of around 100 missiles a month.

“They could have roughly 100 ballistic missiles a month. That is not the case yet. We are working to weaken their military industry,” the President said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine is strengthening its air defence, and that the situation with missile types other than ballistic ones is considerably better.

“We have started shooting down other missiles rather well. Our combat aircraft, and more IRIS-T systems too — we have the systems in place, and the missiles for them are arriving to counter Russian cruise missiles; the HAWKs as well — we are shooting down cruise missiles with a great many things. But ballistic missiles are ballistic missiles. We are now working to make sure there are not 1,300 of them, to reduce that number,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
