President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has congratulated Ukrainians on the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine and thanked the country's defenders.

The President posted the video on his social media accounts.

Our national flag — our blue-and-yellow source of strength and spirit — is always with us. At every one of life’s most important moments.

In hard times and joyful ones, in moments of happiness and of pain, in battle at the front, in captivity, under temporary occupation, and at the moment when Ukraine takes back what is hers — when our people in liberated towns and villages greet their soldiers with words of gratitude, with eyes full of tears of joy, and with this very flag.

It is with us at the moment of Ukraine’s every victory. May the greatest of them be the victory of peace on our land.

Glory to all who defend the national flag! Eternal memory to all who did so at the cost of their lives. Honour and respect to Ukraine’s armed forces and to all our people! Glory to Ukraine!
