President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has approved the first personnel appointments proposed by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi.

The head of state announced this in his evening address the previous day.

“I have approved the first set of personnel appointments that we discussed with Mykhailo Drapatyi. Five decisions have already been taken, and there will be more,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The President also reported that a meeting with the military and the Minister of Defence the day before had determined additional organisational decisions and the resources needed to strengthen the capabilities of Ukrainian units in the Sloviansk sector, in Kostiantynivka and in the areas around Pokrovsk.

“It is very important that experienced commanders be given greater scope to act; there will be decisions at the level of corps and groupings,” he added.

As ArmyInform reported earlier, on 17 August President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Yurii Pohribnyi commander of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
