Russia has received additional ballistic missiles from North Korea and is preparing to use them against Ukraine.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in his evening address on 10 August.

“This is the first time in Russia’s history that they no longer have a safe strategic rear. And it is the first time they cannot fight without top-ups from North Korea.

They are now preparing to station yet another contingent of Koreans on their own territory. And they have received — just imagine — additional ballistic missiles from North Korea.

Everyone in the world must understand what this means. It is not only about people’s lives in Ukraine, not only about the threats to us.

Ballistic missiles from North Korea, and their other weapons, are being refined through collaboration with Russia. The more North Korean strikes land here in Ukraine — in Europe — the more their missiles and soldiers are used, and the more they correct their flaws and fill the gaps in their knowledge, the greater the dangers will subsequently be for Japan, for the Republic of Korea, for the Philippines and for other countries in the region,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

He called on Ukraine’s allies to act together, stressing the importance of coordination and mutual support.

“When we talk about the need to help us with air defence, we are in fact also talking about blunting North Korea’s appetite and interest in coming here, to our land and into our skies, with its weapons in order to learn how to wage war.

Everyone in our global world who respects human life must come together in measures to protect people,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
