Ukrainian service members are continuing combat training in Poland as part of the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Support of Ukraine (EUMAM Ukrain

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, six training courses are currently being conducted simultaneously at Polish military training grounds under the coordination of the Joint Combat Training Command. The program represents a significant organizational effort and is aimed at providing Ukrainian personnel with high-quality preparation adapted to modern battlefield conditions.

This week’s training focuses on two key areas:

  • Urban warfare: Ukrainian soldiers are improving their skills in operations inside buildings, including room-clearing procedures, coordinated movement in confined areas, and teamwork within combat groups.
  • Trench warfare and squad-level leadership: Participants are developing tactical command skills, unit coordination, and decision-making abilities required for leading a squad in complex combat situations.

The General Staff emphasized that both training areas directly correspond to the realities of the fighting faced by the Armed Forces of Ukraine while resisting Russia’s ongoing armed aggression.

Training under EUMAM Ukraine strengthens the interoperability of Ukrainian units with the armed forces of European Union and NATO member states and contributes to improving the overall combat capabilities of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
