On the night of July 8, units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck the Saratov Oil Refinery (Saratov Oblast, Russian Federation).

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Explosions and a fire were recorded on the facility’s premises. The extent of the damage is being assessed.

According to the statement, the Saratov refinery is part of Rosneft and is one of the key oil refining facilities in the Volga region. Its design processing capacity is approximately 7 million tonnes of crude oil per year. The refinery produces gasoline, diesel fuel, and aviation fuel used, among other purposes, to support the military logistics of the aggressor state.

The TAIF-NK Oil Refinery in Nizhnekamsk (Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation) was also struck.

Explosions and a fire were recorded at the facility. The extent of the damage is being clarified.

TAIF-NK is one of Russia’s largest oil refining complexes, comprising an oil refinery, a gasoline plant, and a deep residue conversion complex. Its oil refining capacity exceeds 7 million tonnes per year, while its total processing capacity for all feedstocks exceeds 8 million tonnes annually.

The plant produces diesel fuel, gasoline, aviation fuel, and other petroleum products used to support both Russia’s economy and its military logistics.

Six shadow fleet tankers were also struck — one in the Black Sea and five in the Sea of Azov. These vessels were involved in logistical support for the occupying forces operating in southern Ukraine.

In addition, the Borisoglebsk Air Base in Russia’s Voronezh Oblast was struck. The extent of the damage and the results of the strike are being clarified.

The previous day, road bridges near Urazovo and Shelayevo in Russia’s Belgorod Oblast were struck. These facilities are used by the enemy for military logistics, including the movement of personnel, weapons, ammunition, and materiel.
