Canada has prepared a new $900 million support package for Ukraine.

This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy following his meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

According to the Head of State, the top priority remains protecting Ukraine’s skies from Russian missiles and drones.

“Our first priority is to ensure we have more air defense systems. Protecting lives is paramount, and Russian ballistic missile strikes, other missile attacks, and drone attacks constitute terror that we must stop together with our partners”, — the President stressed.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Canada and Mark Carney for supporting this effort and for their readiness to continue strengthening Ukraine’s defense.

The parties also agreed to prepare a bilateral agreement under the Drone Deal format. The President explained that it will cover not only the production of drones but also the development of advanced defense technologies and security systems whose effectiveness has already been proven on the battlefield.

The talks also focused on diplomatic efforts to bring about a just peace. Zelenskyy shared his vision of measures that could increase pressure on Russia and compel it to engage in genuine negotiations.

In addition, Canada invited Ukraine to become a founding member of a new bank in the fields of defense, security, and resilience. According to the President, this institution will attract investment for the development of the defense industry and the scaling up of technologies tested in wartime.
