Today’s story is not about a typical brainwashed “Muscovite” from the swamps, but about an inhuman individual born in Kyiv.
He later obtained Russian citizenship and has been fighting on the enemy’s side since 2014.
A detailed dossier on this occupier was published by the “Book of Executioners of the Ukrainian People”.
Police in Kyiv region have served a notice of suspicion to a Russian serviceman who, in March 2022, forced a woman with two small children out of her home in the village of Kachaly, Bucha district.
What is known about the suspect
He is Vereshchahin Oleksii Olehovych (born March 30, 1976), a native of Kyiv who obtained Russian citizenship and became a militant of the Russian occupation forces. Before switching sides, he was the president of the Kyiv biker club “Night Wolves”.
According to his own statements, he has been participating in hostilities in Donbas since 2014. During the full-scale invasion, he fought as part of the “Wolves” battalion within the structure of the PMC “Redut”, controlled by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Russian General Staff.
At the end of February 2022, Vereshchahin invaded the Kyiv region through the Chornobyl exclusion zone and took part in the seizure of the villages of Shybene and Kachaly in Bucha district. Since October 2022, he has led the “Nevsky” volunteer detachment, which was later expanded into a brigade. The unit fought, in particular, in the Bakhmut direction in December 2023 and near Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region in August 2024.
For his activities, Vereshchahin was awarded the occupiers’ “Order of Courage”, Orders of “St. George” II and III classes, as well as medals of the so-called “DPR” and “LPR”.
Circumstances of the crime
According to the investigation, on March 17, 2022, in the then-occupied village of Kachaly, Bucha district, he and other servicemen of the “Wolves” battalion conducted raids on local residents’ homes. Vereshchahin broke into a private house where a woman and her two young sons were staying.
Threatening them with a loaded assault rifle, he ordered the mother and children to immediately leave the house and threatened to execute them if they refused. Fearing for their lives, the woman and her children were forced to leave their home.
According to law enforcement, the house was seized to accommodate occupying forces and station Vereshchahin’s unit. The family could not return until the end of the occupation.
