De-mining units of the Ministry of Defense cleared nearly 800 hectares in February
In February 2026, de-mining units of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine cleared 767 hectares of territory liberated from Russian occupiers.
The ministry reported this on March 3.
During the month, the following were cleared:
- 743.49 ha of road and railway access routes;
- 11.32 ha of agricultural land;
- 0.31 km of roads;
- 1.22 km of power lines;
- 79.31 km of railways.
In February, sappers found and destroyed 117 explosive objects.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, 481,033 such objects have been neutralized.
The mine threat remains serious: as of early March, 1,401 people have been affected by Russian mines and explosive remnants, including 144 children and 1,257 adults.
According to the Main Department of Mine Action, Civil Protection, and Environmental Safety, de-mining units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service are involved in clearing liberated territories.
