Presidents of Ukraine and the United States Hold a Phone Call: Negotiation Details
On the evening of February 25, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone conversation with President of the United States of America Donald Trump.
This was reported by the website of the Head of State.
Representatives of the U.S. President’s team, Steven Witkoff and Jared Kushner, also took part in the conversation.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Ukrainian and American negotiators are currently working intensively and thanked them for all efforts and involvement in negotiations aimed at ending the war.
The President emphasized that Ukraine highly values the implementation of the PURL program, as this winter is the most difficult for the country. Therefore, missiles for air defense systems that Ukraine can purchase in the U.S. greatly help overcome these challenges and protect lives.
The Presidents discussed the issues their representatives will work on during the bilateral meeting in Geneva on February 26.
They also discussed preparations for the next full-format trilateral meeting of negotiation teams in early March.
Ukraine expects this meeting to allow a transition to negotiations at the leaders’ level. President Donald Trump supports this sequence of steps.
“Only this way can all complex and sensitive issues be resolved and the war finally ended”, — Zelenskyy said.
