President Volodymyr Zelensky gave clear instructions to the Ukrainian delegation.
He wrote this on his official page.
Yesterday included various meeting formats: both bilateral — between Ukraine and the U.S. — and multilateral. There were talks between Ukrainian, American, and Russian representatives regarding military and military-political issues.
The Ukrainian delegation also held a meeting with representatives of Europe — the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland — together with the American team.
Zelensky emphasized that Europe’s participation is critically necessary for successful implementation of possible agreements. Ukraine is confident that partners can ensure the constructiveness of the negotiation process and a worthy outcome.
He noted that the meetings were difficult, and Russia is trying to drag out negotiations that could already be entering their final stage.
The President thanked the American side for attention to detail and patience in talks with the Russian representatives.
Zelensky instructed the Ukrainian delegation to ensure the negotiations are productive and increase chances for peaceful solutions. Today, the humanitarian track is to be discussed — including steps toward prisoner exchange and civilian release.
“I am grateful to our representatives for their teamwork and implementation of the delegation directives. Ukraine needs guaranteed security and a reliable, lasting peace. That is what we are working for”, — Zelensky stated.
