A special operations group of the 8th SOF Regiment carried out successful special actions in Kupiansk.
The combat footage was published on January 26 on the channel of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During reconnaissance of the city center, SOF operators detected a group of Russian servicemen. The occupiers were holding positions in a destroyed supermarket and a nearby building.
As a result of direct action:
- two enemy servicemen were eliminated;
- two occupiers were captured.
“The actions of the SOF group contributed to adjacent units in liberating the central part of the city of Kupiansk.
Reconnaissance and direct action in urban environments require high professionalism, which SOF operators continuously hone during CQB and CQC training (Close Quarters Battle — combat at close range; Close Quarters Combat — hand-to-hand/close combat) — tactical disciplines for conducting combat operations in confined spaces (buildings, corridors, transport) at very short distances”, — the SOF statement said.
