In the area of Chasiv Yar, Russians periodically attempt assaults not only on foot but also using vehicles as transport to rapidly deliver assault troops to the forward edge.

Such enemy assaults are repelled primarily by drones and artillery thanks to early detection of enemy movement. This makes it possible to inflict maximum losses on the enemy while minimizing losses among Ukrainian defenders.

This was stated in an exclusive comment to ArmyInform by Oleh Petrasiuk, officer of the public relations department of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo.

“Another assault action and another attempt by the enemy to advance in the area of the city of Chasiv Yar ended unsuccessfully for the Russians. They lost 10 personnel and an MT-LB. There were also two quad bikes that the enemy assault troops tried to hide in the bushes, but an hour later this equipment was also finished off”, — he said.

As usual, drone operators and artillerymen played the key role in repelling the enemy assault.

“They were mainly taken apart by drones and artillery”, — the serviceman explained.

This use of forces and means allowed not only to repel the enemy assault attempt and inflict significant losses on the occupiers, but also to prevent losses among Ukrainian soldiers.

A key role in repelling the assault was played by aerial reconnaissance, which allowed enemy movement to be detected in advance.

“The Russian MT-LB was detected early and drones began to ‘unwind’ it. From the already hit and burning vehicle, troops dismounted and tried to hide among the ruins. However, they failed — all were detected and eliminated by drones”, — the officer explained.

The use of equipment by Russians during assaults in the Chasiv Yar area is a common occurrence.

Despite the fact that in most cases the occupiers advance on foot, with a certain periodicity depending on weather conditions, they also resort to assault actions using vehicles.

“They mostly advance on foot, but you can’t get everywhere on foot. That’s why from time to time, with certain regularity, they try to use equipment.

In our direction, Russian equipment never completely disappeared, and until autumn they were even moving in large columns.

Later, when the enemy realized that we were burning all their equipment, they began to use it more cautiously, but they never fully abandoned its use”, — Oleh Petrasiuk summarized.
