At night, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine’s regions — more than 370 strike drones and 21 missiles of various types were launched. Kyiv and the region, Sumy region, Kharkiv region, and Chernihiv region were hit.

This was stated in a message by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on his Telegram channel.

In Kharkiv, a maternity hospital, a dormitory housing displaced persons, a medical college, and residential buildings were damaged. As of now, dozens of people are reported injured, including a child.

In the capital and the region, the main target for the Russians was the energy sector.

“Unfortunately, this attack claimed the life of one person. My condolences to the family and loved ones. All necessary services are currently working at the sites of the Russian strikes, eliminating all consequences. Rescuers, medics, municipal services, energy workers, repair crews. I thank each and every one involved. I am grateful to all air defense warriors who repelled the attack”, — the President noted.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that every such Russian strike on the energy sector proves that deliveries of air defense systems must not be delayed.

“We cannot turn a blind eye to these strikes — we must respond, and respond with strength. We count on the reaction and assistance of all our partners. Every missile for Patriot, NASAMS, and all other systems helps protect critical infrastructure and helps people get through the winter cold. We must implement everything we agreed upon with President Trump in Davos regarding air defense. Thank you to everyone who helps protect lives”, — the Head of State added.
