“We take care of our own so they can destroy the enemy”: Nataliia joined the Armed Forces at 60

Ms. Nataliia is a cook in the material support battalion of the 115th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Her story was shared on the brigade’s YouTube channel.

At the age of 60, she made an important decision not everyone is capable of — she signed a contract. In May 2025, a law on “60+ contracts” was adopted, and already in September Ms. Nataliia decided to join the military.

Today, she prepares more than just food for the defenders. She puts a touch of home warmth into every dish.

“Our supply is good, there are plenty of products. We have everything — all that’s needed is the desire to cook delicious food”, — Nataliia says with a smile.
