In 2025, the share of weapons, equipment, and ammunition contracted by the Defense Procurement Agency (DOT) from Ukrainian manufacturers increased from 46% to 82% compared to the previous year.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on January 23.

In 2025, the Ministry of Defense strengthened its focus on procuring domestic products for the needs of the Armed Forces.

At the same time, the share of imported military goods decreased over the year from 54% to 18%, creating prerequisites for the sustainable development of Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex.

“The volume of procurements from domestic manufacturers reached nearly UAH 430 billion, and the share of Ukrainian producers in lethal categories in 2025 amounted to 82%. Orientation toward the domestic market allows manufacturers to scale up, implement innovations faster, and supply the military with solutions adapted to the real needs of the front, while reducing dependence on external suppliers”, — said Arsen Zhumadilov, Director of the Defense Procurement Agency DOT.

In 2026, DOT plans to improve its procurement approach. When contracting suppliers, additional criteria will be considered, including localization of production and diversification of supply.
