“I tried to return to civilian life but couldn’t find myself”: Story of UAV operator “Fox”
“Fox” is 20 years old. He is from Rivne. From his teenage years, he dreamed of military service. At 19, he purposefully began looking for a way to join the 61st Brigade — studying information, exploring directions, and choosing a specialty.
His story was published on the channel of the 61st Steppe Mechanized Brigade.
He gained his first combat experience in the Volunteer Corps, and today he is an unmanned systems operator in the 61st Brigade, serving under his second contract.
He talks about his first combat experience in Sudzha and his path.
“I tried to return to civilian life, but I couldn’t find myself — and after three months I returned to the ranks”, — Fox says.
He separately emphasizes the role of the team: in the unit, he was systematically trained, guided in technology and teamwork, and supported at every stage.
In the interview, he speaks about the specifics of a UAV operator’s work: preparation and planning, communication and navigation control, real-time operations, crew interaction, and decision-making.
