Defense Ministers of Ukraine and the United Kingdom discuss drone production
Ukraine’s Minister of Defense, Mykhailo Fedorov, held talks with UK Secretary of State for Defence John Healey.
He reported this on social media on January 19.
Mykhailo Fedorov thanked the United Kingdom for the exceptionally effective security cooperation within the framework of the Agreement on a Century Partnership. According to him, the UK remains one of Ukraine’s key partners in strengthening its defense capabilities.
“I outlined my key goals as Minister of Defense. Strengthening air defense is priority number one. I also emphasized the importance of the joint Octopus drone production project, which is already reinforcing Ukraine’s protection against Shahed attacks”, — Fedorov said.
The ministers agreed on systematic data exchange regarding the use of weapons within their joint efforts.
“This will enable faster technological improvements in line with battlefield conditions and increase effectiveness for both countries”, — the statement said.
They also agreed to expand cooperation in R&D and support innovative joint projects that deliver practical results at the front.
“We also discussed preparations for the next Ramstein-format meeting, which will take place next month. I am grateful to the United Kingdom for its leadership and consistent, long-term support for Ukraine”, — Fedorov noted.
