Statements by Russian military leaders about the encirclement of 15 Defense Forces battalions in the Kupiansk area are yet another myth of Russian propaganda.
This was stated on air during the national telethon by Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Joint Forces grouping.
He commented on yet another boast by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who claimed that 15 Ukrainian battalions were allegedly encircled near Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi.
“One must understand that Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi is four square kilometers, and 15 battalions would fit there only if you stacked people on top of each other — about six layers high. Again, fantasies”, — Viktor Trehubov said.
He also noted that despite constant strikes on Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, Ukrainian defenders do not allow the enemy to approach the settlement.
