Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, paid a working visit to military command bodies that continue the operation and hold the defense of the Pokrovsk–Myrnohrad agglomeration.
This was stated in his message on January 19.
“The operational situation in the Pokrovsk direction remains difficult. In the Pokrovsk–Myrnohrad agglomeration area, an exhausting confrontation continues. Around fifty combat engagements take place here daily”, — Oleksandr Syrskyi wrote.
During the visit, the Commander-in-Chief worked directly on-site with military command bodies and unit commanders.
“The enemy is trying to increase pressure: pulling reserves toward Pokrovsk, seeking opportunities to break through our defense both through sporadic mass assaults and covert advances by small infantry groups. Under such conditions, organizing defense requires full situational awareness, flexible decisions, and precise calculations”, — Oleksandr Syrskyi noted.
According to him, special attention was paid to preserving personnel lives and maintaining the combat capabilities of units.
Based on reports, Oleksandr Syrskyi defined priority tasks for commanders of command bodies and units defending this sector.
“The main focus is on increasing defensive resilience, continuity of logistics support, effectiveness of fire damage, and coordinated interaction between all levels of command. Necessary orders were given to strengthen support for our soldiers, particularly in the unmanned component”, — the Commander-in-Chief emphasized.
Despite the difficult situation, Ukrainian servicemen are holding the line. Their professionalism, endurance, dedication, and combat experience prevent Russian occupiers from realizing their plans to break through to the western borders of Donetsk region.
