The Dobropillia direction ended his career: Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy dismissed
The command of the Russian occupation forces has dismissed Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy for Coastal and Ground Forces, Lieutenant General Sukhrab Akhmedov, who was awarded the title “Hero of Russia” in the summer of 2025.
This was reported on the Facebook page of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov”.
Sukhrab Akhmedov commanded a marine infantry grouping consisting of two divisions, two brigades, and a regiment that operated against Ukrainian forces in the Dobropillia direction, within the defense sector of the 1st Corps of the NGU “Azov”.
Earlier, the commander of Russia’s 51st Combined Arms Army, Lieutenant General Serhii Milchakov — another “Hero of Russia”, whose units participated in attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses in the same area — was also removed from his post.
They were dismissed for “lack of results.” Massive infantry and mechanized attacks involving dozens of armored vehicles failed to achieve operational success or break through Ukrainian positions. The only result achieved by the occupation commanders was significant losses in personnel and equipment.
Since August last year, when the 1st Corps of the NGU “Azov” assumed its designated defense sector in the Dobropillia direction, the enemy has lost nearly 23,000 soldiers killed and wounded. Losses in heavy armored equipment alone amounted to 100 tanks and 263 armored combat vehicles.
“The removal of two Russian generals from their posts is recognition of the failure of the enemy’s tactics in the Dobropillia direction. But this is not only their defeat — it is our victory. It is the result of the actions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine engaged in this sector of the front, who proved their effectiveness through coordinated troop actions and professional command management that developed and implemented the defense strategy”, — Azov emphasized.
Akhmedov and Milchakov will be replaced by other generals. However, they should immediately understand: the Dobropillia direction is a place where Russian soldiers and officers constantly die — and where the careers of occupation army generals end.
