In November 2025, during the battles for Stepnohirsk, a group of Russian airborne troops attempted to break through into the rear of Ukrainian forces, trying to cut key logistical routes to the city. To neutralize the threat, a group of foreign volunteers was promptly deployed to the area.

The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported details of the operation.

Mission in “Drone Hell”

The mission was carried out by the assault company “Advanced Company” of Tactical Group “Revenge” of the DIU International Legion. The main objective was reconnaissance by fire: to force enemy airborne troops to reveal their firing positions for subsequent artillery strikes and final elimination.

Complexity of the operation

The mission was significantly complicated by the occupiers’ technical superiority in this area:

  • The enemy actively used large numbers of fiber-optic FPV drones.

  • These UAVs provided dense cover for Russian infantry, requiring extraordinary skill and stealth from the legionnaires during movement.

Thanks to the professional actions of the “Advanced Company” assault troops, the enemy was detected and conditions were created for its complete destruction, maintaining the stability of logistics to Stepnohirsk.
