Enemy losses, new boats and Sea Mine clearance: Ukrainian Navy Summarizes 2025 results
In 2025, units of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continued to carry out missions and weaken the Russian aggressor — from strikes on its territory to the daily heroic resistance of marines on the hottest axes of the front.
This was reported by Commander of the Ukrainian Navy, Vice Admiral Oleksii Neizhpapa.
In cooperation with other components of Ukraine’s Defense and Security Forces, strikes were carried out on more than 50 facilities of the enemy’s defense industry and critical infrastructure. Shadow fleet tankers, military infrastructure facilities, energy and oil industry sites were hit.
The Ukrainian Navy also continued to ensure maritime security to Ukraine’s ports — in 2025, safe passage was provided for 7,318 vessels. In addition, nearly 120 square kilometers of sea waters were surveyed, and 49 naval mines of various types were detected and destroyed.
During the year, the enemy significantly increased the intensity of air strikes, particularly using strike UAVs. Naval air defense units destroyed 2,464 enemy aerial attack assets, including 1,142 Shahed UAVs.
Within the framework of the Maritime Capabilities Coalition, the Ukrainian Navy received two mine countermeasure vessels, dozens of combat boats and watercraft of various types, as well as weapons, mine countermeasure equipment, surface situation awareness systems, and physical protection for ports.
Special attention in 2025 was paid to the development of unmanned systems. Their integrated use increased the effectiveness of striking the enemy, and the economic effect of inflicted losses significantly exceeded the resources involved.
“The Naval Forces continue to contain the Russian Black Sea Fleet. The enemy is forced to keep most of its combat ships, including all Kalibr missile carriers, in Novorossiysk”, — Oleksii Neizhpapa emphasized.
