The attempt by the enemy to carry out an assault using the “Soyuz” gas transportation pipeline in the Kupiansk direction was thwarted thanks to continuous reconnaissance work conducted within the defense sector.

This was reported on the air of Army TV by Viktor Petrovych, a serviceman of the 77th Separate Airmobile Dnipro Brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“We noticed that enemy servicemen were appearing seemingly out of nowhere, so we began searching for them. At first, they moved one or two at a time, then in groups. And when they started moving in a large group, we understood the area where they might emerge”, — Viktor Petrovych said.

According to him, such pipelines are difficult to detect, which requires very effective reconnaissance work.

“Occupiers can emerge from the pipe in fog or rain. Therefore, comprehensive reconnaissance and observation are conducted both in the air and on the ground”, — added the serviceman of the 77th Brigade.

He noted that in general, small enemy groups predominantly operate in the Kupiansk direction, attempting to advance in bad weather, rain, and fog.

“Now it is much harder for them to conceal themselves. If the weather is good, it is quite easy to detect them compared to summer conditions, when they were moving through dense vegetation”, — Viktor Petrovych said.
