Russian occupation forces shell border areas of Sumy Oblast daily and attempt to expand the combat zone.

This was stated on Suspilne TV by Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

“The border of Ukraine within Sumy Oblast — 550 kilometers — is shelled daily by the enemy. In certain sections of Sumy region, the enemy is trying to expand the combat zone; this has been happening for a long time within the Khotin and Yunakivka communities, as well as in the area of the settlement of Hrabovske,” Andrii Demchenko said.

According to him, the enemy entered Hrabovske but has since been unable to expand the combat zone or advance further.

“In other sections of the border within the Sumy region, the enemy is probing the border, looking for weak spots, but suffers heavy losses during attempts to enter Ukrainian territory”, — Andrii Demchenko added.
