The President and Keir Starmer discussed diplomatic efforts and the use of frozen “Chelsea” funds
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer.

During the conversation, the parties coordinated further diplomatic steps, discussed preparations for a leaders-level meeting, and the need for a fair decision regarding the use of frozen funds from the sale of the football club Chelsea for the benefit of Ukraine.
Coordination of diplomatic efforts
The Head of State reported that the conversation focused on further diplomatic steps and joint actions to achieve greater justice, taking into account the consequences of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
According to the President, partners are coordinating their positions on further formats of interaction aimed at bringing about a just peace.
During the conversation, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Keir Starmer discussed details of preparing a leaders-level meeting scheduled to take place in the near future.
“Today is an active day, and 18 participants from Europe are involved in joint work. We are also coordinating with the American side”, — the President noted.
Frozen funds from the sale of Chelsea
One of the key topics was the need to adopt a fair decision regarding the frozen funds obtained from the sale of the football club Chelsea. The amount in question is £2.5 billion.
“These are two and a half billion pounds that can and must significantly help protect lives and support Ukraine’s reconstruction after all Russian strikes”, — the Head of State emphasized.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Keir Starmer for his leadership and expressed gratitude to the United Kingdom for its support of Ukraine.
According to the President, the adoption of such fair decisions will help strengthen Ukraine’s resilience and will correspond to the shared aspiration of Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and other partners around the world to achieve peace.
