In 2025, the condition of engineering fortifications of defensive lines improved — Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Oleksandr Syrskyi held a working meeting on the state of engineering fortification of defensive lines, during which fortifications, engineering obstacles, preparation of populated areas for defense, and the organization of anti-drone protection were discussed.
He reported this on social media on January 2.
The Commander-in-Chief heard reports from commanders of troop groupings and the head of the Administration of the State Special Transport Service.
They discussed in detail how defensive positions are equipped, the condition of anti-drone protection, and how prepared populated areas are for defense. Particular attention was paid to problematic issues, and specific steps to resolve them were identified.
“Servicemen of the engineering troops of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in close cooperation with local authorities and military administrations, are performing critically important tasks almost continuously. These include the creation of extensive systems of trenches and dugouts, construction of anti-tank ditches, building of bunkers and other elements of fortifications”, — the statement said.
According to Oleksandr Syrskyi, in 2025 the condition of engineering fortifications of defensive lines and anti-drone protection improved. A large amount of work was carried out to prepare populated areas for defense.
“At the same time, these measures must continue to be implemented systematically and consistently. The experience of defending the Pokrovsk–Myrnohrad agglomeration clearly proves that timely and high-quality fortifications and engineering obstacles make it possible to create an effective defense, inflict maximum losses on the enemy on the approaches, and disrupt its plans — even in conditions of numerical superiority of the adversary”, — the Commander-in-Chief emphasized.
He thanked the servicemen of the engineering troops, units of the Support Forces, personnel of the State Special Transport Service, as well as local authorities and military administrations.
