On the night of January 1, 2026 (from 6:00 p.m. on December 31, 2025), the enemy launched an attack using 205 strike UAVs of the Shahed type, “Gerbera”, and other types of drones.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The enemy attacked from the following directions: Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo — Russian Federation; Chauda, Hvardiiske — temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea; Donetsk — temporarily occupied territory. About 130 of them were Shahed drones.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, as of 8:30 a.m., air defense shot down or suppressed 176 enemy UAVs of the Shahed type, “Gerbera,” and other drones in the north, south, and east of the country.
Hits by 24 strike UAVs were recorded at 15 locations.
“The attack continues; several enemy UAVs remain in the airspace. Follow safety rules!” the Air Force emphasized.
The enemy is attempting to develop the production of naval drones and copy successful Ukrainian practices — both technical solutions and tactics.
Fighting continues in the northern part of the city of Pokrovsk in the Pokrovsk direction. A mechanized assault was repelled there the day before.
