The third wave of deployment of the “Impulse” personnel accounting system has begun in the Armed Forces of Ukraine — it is now also being introduced in units of the Unmanned Systems Forces..

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on December 31.

It is noted that earlier “Impulse” had already been launched in the first units of the Air Assault Forces and the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The deployment of the system takes place in several stages: from preparing infrastructure and setting up a secure environment to data import and transition to daily work in the system.

“Impulse” is being developed and implemented by IT specialists of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Technology Solutions Scaling Center.

“These are servicemen with combat experience who clearly understand the real needs of units and the specifics of service in wartime conditions. That is why the system is adapted for practical use on the ground. Deployment is ensured by units of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the Ministry of Defense stated.

More than 200 military units are already working with “Impulse” on a daily basis.

“Currently, several units of the Unmanned Systems Forces have already received the necessary equipment and are beginning to configure a secure environment for working with ‘Impulse’.

It is expected that the system will significantly accelerate data processing and analysis — enabling even more accurate and prompt decisions, on which the effectiveness of units’ mission execution directly depends”, — explained Ivan “Hrinch”, Head of the Digitalization Directorate of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defense emphasized that “Impulse” is not only a tool for daily personnel accounting. The system lays the foundation for the further digital transformation of the military.

In the future, its data will become the basis for the development of other digital services in the Armed Forces, including the SAP Defense Resource Management System, the Army+ application, and the Medical Information System.
