President awards seven defenders the title Hero of Ukraine, four posthumously

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has awarded the title Hero of Ukraine to seven servicemen, four of them posthumously.

The relevant decrees were published on the President’s official website.

The documents state that the titles were awarded for personal courage and heroism shown in defending the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and for selfless service to the Ukrainian people.

The title Hero of Ukraine with the Order of the Golden Star was awarded to:

Colonel Hennadii Kutsyi
Colonel Maksym Yarosh
Senior Sergeant Myron Chernovol
Lieutenant Colonel Oleksandr Drozdetskyi (posthumously)
Chief Sergeant Oleksii Symonenko (posthumously)
Junior Sergeant Andrii Palonyi (posthumously)
Soldier Vladyslav Stepanenko (posthumously)
