President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney, during which the parties coordinated positions on diplomatic efforts and security guarantees for Ukraine.
The Head of State reported this in a post on his page.
According to the President, he informed the Canadian Prime Minister about the progress of negotiations with the United States, in particular about documents that are already effectively ready and those that still require refinement. Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine highly values Canada’s clear understanding of the need for joint action to ensure security and real recovery.
The President also noted that important decisions may be made in the coming days both at the bilateral level between Ukraine and the United States and in cooperation with partners from the Coalition of the Willing. According to him, the key task remains strengthening the protection of life, supporting Ukrainian positions at the front, and increasing the effectiveness of the negotiation process.
At the same time, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that it is Russia that is currently dragging out the process and trying to waste time, whereas pauses and “weekends”, when bloodshed does not stop, are unacceptable for Ukraine and its partners.
“Thank you to everyone in the world who supports this very approach. Thank you, Canada” , — the President of Ukraine emphasized.
