On Christmas Eve, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed Ukrainians with a Christmas greeting, emphasizing national unity, the strength of traditions, and the country’s resilience amid the full-scale war.

He published the video address on social media.

In his address, the Head of State stressed that Christmas Eve and Christmas remain symbols of family warmth, faith, and togetherness for Ukrainians, despite the fourth year of the war for independence.

The President emphasized that it is precisely these values that Ukrainian warriors are defending today — the right to be together, to live in one’s own home, and to feel peace and security.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that not all Ukrainians can be at home this evening: some are on the front line, some in captivity, some under occupation, or forced to leave their homes. At the same time, he stressed that Russia is incapable of destroying what matters most — the Ukrainian heart, faith in one another, and national unity.

The President drew attention to the fact that on the eve of Christmas, Russia once again carried out massive attacks on Ukraine, using drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles. He described such actions as manifestations of godlessness and contempt for any human values.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Ukrainians on Christmas Eve to pray for the military on the front line, for prisoners, for all fallen heroes, and for those under occupation or in forced emigration. He emphasized that the light Ukrainians keep in their homes and hearts helps them endure and not lose themselves in the darkness.

The Head of State separately noted the importance of preserving Christmas traditions, carols, and faith in goodness, which are passed on to children and remain proof that life and humanity triumph over evil.

In concluding his address, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the shared Christmas dream of Ukrainians is peace and the victory of justice. He wished every family harmony, children joy, and the entire country its first peaceful Christmas in an independent Ukraine.

“I wish all Ukrainians a Merry Christmas, delicious kutia, and peace. Take care of yourselves, your families, and our Ukraine”, — the President emphasized.
