One person killed as a result of a Russian strike on a thermal power plant in Kharkiv
The enemy carried out a series of targeted strikes on a thermal power plant in the nearest suburb of Kharkiv. This led to a significant drop in voltage in the city, directly affecting heat supply and the operation of public transport.
This was reported on December 24 by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.
Power supply problems
“Unfortunately, one person has been killed.
All relevant services are currently conducting inspections and determining the actual scale of the destruction. Where technically possible, we are forced to switch to ‘energy island’ mode to mitigate the impact on Kharkiv residents.
Due to damage to the energy system, the operation of electric public transport is also temporarily complicated in the Rohan, KhTZ, Nova Bavariia, and Kholodna Hora districts. Transport services are already working to stabilize the situation.
Metro service has been restored.
I ask you to treat the situation with understanding. It is important to trust the specialists who are doing their work under extremely difficult conditions”, — Ihor Terekhov wrote.
Injured
“Another 11 people were injured, with varying degrees of severity.
The injured have been hospitalized. All are receiving highly qualified medical care”, — wrote the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov.
