Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sánchez in Brussels.

The President reported this on December 18.

“We discussed coordination of positions and steps with Europe regarding the negotiation process with the team of the President of the United States to achieve a just peace.

It is important that Europe be involved at every stage, because peace must guarantee Ukraine’s sovereignty and European security.

We also discussed our movement toward EU membership — this is also an important element of security guarantees”, — Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.

He thanked Pedro Sánchez for the continued defense support — the decision to provide IRIS-T missiles and participation in the PURL and SAFE programs.

“We appreciate Spain’s support for all EU sanctions packages against Russia.

We expect the 20th package to include tough measures against the banking sector, Russia’s shadow fleet, dual-use technologies, Russian oligarchs, and propagandists”, — the President wrote.
