Heavy fighting continues in the Lyman area, within the area of responsibility of the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. The enemy is pushing toward the southern outskirts of the city.
This was stated on the national telethon United News by Taras Dodychenko, Deputy Commander of the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade.
According to him, overall the enemy’s tactics have not changed — they advance in small infantry groups. The rapid Russian advances observed recently are due to weather conditions. Fog, rain, and snow limit the full use of drones — both for surveillance and for striking the enemy. Therefore, the enemy tries to run through the “kill zone” and entrench itself in the rear of Defense Forces units. Earlier, a suicidal attack by African mercenaries was observed in the Donetsk steppe.
“This is not a mass deployment, but we have observed them here three or four times. Unfortunately, we were unable to take any prisoners; all of them were eliminated. From a military standpoint, they are not particularly dangerous. Due to the language barrier, no one controls them — they simply move forward. These are absolutely disposable people used to reveal our firing positions. They just go as far as they can”, — the deputy commander said.
